Description: Born July 17th 1912 in Isleworth where she lived all her life. Went to school at St Mary's Catholic School and then Spring Grove Central. Remembers children's games after school especially hiring bikes. Left school at 14 and went to work at Pear's Soap Factory in Isleworth in 1926. First job making cardboard cartons, then washing soap. In 1928 went to MacFarlane's Biscuits then Lytton's Wireless Factory in Isleworth. Then Gilettes, new factory in the Great West Road where she worked in the canteen. After she married she and her husband ran a coal merchant and greengrocers and lived over the shop. In 1969 she had a brain haemorrage, in 1970 wnet to Heston Day Care Centre and has been there ever since. Describes Isleworth Ferry and walking along the river to Brentford and Kew.
