India:\- She was born in Northern Punjab, in India, on 30th December 1931.\- She was two and a half when her father died. After college she got her honours in Punjabi and graduated with English and Music.\- In her village she was the only female who was studying inside or outside the hostel.\Second world war - the War of Independence - Partition:\- She was in ninth class when partition took place in 1947.\- In 1949 she got married and had her first child in 1950.\- Once her education was complete she got a job concerned with music and drama ... ?\- During the first war with Pakistan and China after partition and independence she took a group of 15-20 people to places in India and entertained the army with dramas and music.\- Songs ... ?\- She visited the army about twice a year for a month each time.\England:\- Her husband's mother died when he was nine and his father married three more times. The fourth mother didn't give them anything and although he cultivated land he wasn't really doing anything so came to England.\- First the oldest daughter moved then the middle daughter and finally she came with her youngest daughter and her son. Initially she disliked England and didn't feel comfortable renting a house with five children she wasn't earning enough money.\- She was scared at how the Punjabi people in England weren't speaking correctly and were living for money? They had no respect.\British Airways:\- She began work as a labourer and then became a supervisor; she worked there for 13-14 years.\- Her job included catering, packing cutlery etc.\America:\- She moved to Florida in America because her eldest daughter was there.\- She opened a shop. However it wasn't right for her so she moved back.\ She preferred the UK because at that time it was more multicultural and people could speak their own language.\England and India:\- Plus points of UK: good education good medical care and it is progressing.\- Negative points of UK: the new generation of Asians in England are losing the culture they go to the Gudwara but they don't know what it means.\ Negative points of India: although she loved India she believes that the people who have left are not in touch with the common people over there.\- ?""
